You need to learn about variables, structured coding and commenting. All of these things will help you become a more successful web programmer. Learning about these things is not enough. You need to learn how to put the code together, how different programs work and you need to have a very basic understanding of how the Internet works. It will take some time before you can code web pages like the pros.
